Responsibilities:

• Providing physical support for our residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, moving, bathroom assistance, walking, standing, or exercising
• Turning and repositioning patients who require such
• Answering patient calls and determining how best to help
• Providing patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; assisting in transporting patients; answering patients’ call lights and requests, and reporting observations to nursing supervisor
• Obtaining a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities
• Noting observations of patient behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.
• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
• Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures
• Protects organization’s value by keeping patient information confidential
• Stay up to date on CNA training and facility policy and procedure
• Enhances nursing department and facility reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

CNA Skills, Qualifications and Requirements:

• New Jersey Certified Nursing Assistant Certification
• Knowledge of relevant nursing care
• Friendly and professional bedside manner
• Maintains current CPR certification
• Multi-tasking skills
• Effective oral, written, and reading communication skills
• Understands legal implications of patient care
