Your Job as a Clinical Scribe:
The Clinical Scribe performs clerical and information technology functions for the practitioner in a psychiatric hospital setting.
Essential Functions as a Clinical Scribe:
- Accurately and thoroughly document psychiatric evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries.
- Knowledgeable of patient charts and ability to operate electronic health record and dictation system.
- Anticipate physician needs to facilitate the flow of patient encounters.
- Assist in developing and maintaining systems to track patient follow up and compliance.
- Alert physician when chart is incomplete.
- Assist in ensuring all addenda are signed off by a physician.
- Comply with specific standards that apply to the style of medical records and to the legal and ethical requirements for preparing medical documents and for keeping patient information confidential.
- Collaborate with patient treatment teams and administrative departments including Health Information Management, Utilization Review, Admitting and Receiving, Nursing and Social Work.
Your Skills and Qualifications as an Intake Clinician:
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, or related field preferred.
- Medical Assitant experience preferred.
- Clear and concise communication with both staff and patients.
- Experience with computer systems highly preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
