Review the work of staff responsible for performing duties related to the operation of the dispatch center, including but not limited to:

• Review dispatch pass down ensuring post coverage, timesheets, DPS logs and any additional logging has been properly added to log reports
• Participate in performing the work of the dispatch unit and ability to perform the most complex work of the dispatch unit including addressing issues and making operational decisions in coordination with supervisory and management staff
• Coordinating the scheduling of dispatch staff to meet requests off, LOA, and call outs
• Attend monthly staff meetings and work with supervisory and management staff to resolve issues related to dispatch
• Assist in coverage for special projects, temporary and event assignments as assigned
• Perform the full range of Dispatcher duties; receive, classify, and prioritize all incoming calls in the dispatch center including calls received from officers, personnel, clients and/or potential clients requesting service or information.
• Evaluate response necessary for a given request for service; operate computer aided dispatch (CAD) system to create work orders for service; assign and dispatch officers/personnel in accordance with policies and procedures to decrease overtime.
• Maintain contact, status and location of field supervisors on duty; monitor radio; relay necessary information to city manager.
• Operate CAD system to enter, modify, and retrieve data such as clients, work orders, incident reports, employee PINs, timecards/timecard data.
• Maintain various logs and records of activities including call-outs, tardy reports, DPS reports, requests off, supervisor shift coverage, and any additional logs and records required to maintain.
• Monitor CAD system system for real time incident reporting, completing timecards in real time.
