THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will be responsible for daily administrative duties in the PA Fish and Boat Commission's Bureau of Law Enforcement's SW Region (Somerset PA). Duties include:

  • primary receptionist duties, which involves screening telephone calls and greeting and directing individuals to appropriate personnel.
  • providing PFBC informational literature
  • serving as timekeeper for regional office, ensuring all leave and payroll is recorded accurately and timely.
  • processing payments for supplies and services, coding invoices, interacting with vendors when discrepancies occur, and performing monthly reconciliation.
  • processing incoming and outgoing mail
  • operating standard office equipment such as computer, copy and fax machines
  • sale of fishing licenses and processing boat registrations
  • handling weekly banking responsibilities
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • You must be able to effectively use computers, various software, Microsoft Office products and office equipment.
  • You must have knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, conduct and actions necessary in maintaining efficient and effective operations.
  • You must be able to work independently with little guidance or supervision.
  • You must maintain strict confidentiality.
  • You must learn, understand, and interpret the fishing and boating laws and regulations and other related legal documents.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
