Job Summary

The Citizenship Instructor is a key member in the operation of Neighborhood House (NH)’s, employment and training programming. They report to the Citizenship Supervisor. They will report to the Citizenship Supervisor. This position has primary responsibilities of preparing and presenting effective lesson plans to the ESL/Civics students, so that they may take and successfully pass the English and US Civics test, as part of the process to become naturalized US Citizens, by utilizing teaching techniques that are effective for adult learning. These classes will encompass all levels of ESL students seeking immigration/naturalization services. Classes will be conducted for the High Point, Greenbridge, and Birch Creek Centers. To be successful is this a position must have a Bachelor’s degree in TESOL or related field required, M.A. TESOL preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.24 - $26.94 per hour
