Koinonia Family Services is seeking a qualified individual to work as a full-time child and family social worker to serve youth and families in Koinonia's foster care and adoption programs in Ventura County. This is a partial remote position, with team meetings conducted at our Palmdale office, and the remainder of the time working remotely. Koinonia is one of California’s leading children’s services agencies. Responsibilities include social work and case management of children in foster-adopt placement; providing support services to resource parents; writing home study assessments for Koinonia approved resource families who are adopting foster children placed in their homes; writing home study assessments for county-referred families, and providing on-going case management and services for children in approved adoption placement, including post-adoption services.

The position requires a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW). Prior experience as a foster family agency social worker preferred. Prior experience completing S.A.F.E. home studies preferred. The work schedule is regular business hours, Monday-Friday, with some occasional early evening and weekend work (with flex time to offset those hours).

Koinonia observes safe working protocols to enhance employee safety during the pandemic. This includes of a worksite specific prevention plan at office, and remote work schedules for staff as appropriate to the duties and responsibilities of the position. Some in-person work is required, and Koinonia provides personal protective equipment for such purposes.

The medical plan has very low co-pays/deductibles and offers great coverage. The starting annual salary is $62,400 (or higher depending upon overall qualifications and experience) with another increase expected on January 1 to $64,480, and eligibility for annual increases thereafter.

Koinonia is a qualified employer under the federal Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after a minimum number of qualifying monthly payments have been made while working for a qualifying employer.

Important: Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background clearance through Department of Justice and FBI as well as a pre-employment physical and TB test. Also, must have a driver's license in good standing, reliable transportation and be able to meet auto insurance eligibility requirements.

Experience
