Medical Assistant (MA)/Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Role and Responsibilities

****Recent Graduates encouraged to apply****

The medical assistant will have a minimum of one year clinical experience and be an integral part of the patient care team. This is a full-time position, and will handle the use of confidential information. Primary duties are as follows:

· Greets all patients and visitors

· Performs EHR intake entry by verifying medications, allergies, past/family medical and social histories

· Identifies chief complaint as well as performance metrics for MACRA/MIPS reporting

· Obtains vial signs and follows current meaningful use regulations in regards to Computers Order Procedure Entry

· Assists providers with examination and treatment of patients

· Triage patient calls, including prescription refill requests, FMLA/STD paperwork

· Records accurate clinical messages within the limits of their knowledge and scope of practice

· Ensures that all equipment in exam rooms is clean and properly set up prior to each patient encounter for infection control

· Monitors sterilization equipment, performing routine maintenance and controls as needed

· Ensures all patient exam rooms are appropriately stocked while checking expiration dates

· Maintains confidentiality, professionalism and speaks to patients in a calm tone of voice to promote security and confidence within the practice

· Ability to travel to satellite clinics as needed on a rotating basis (1-2 times per month - Jacksonville, Brunswick County)

· Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Preferred, but not required
Associates degree from accredited Medical Assistant Program, and has current (or eligible for) certification through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); American Medical Technologists (AMT) or other CMS recognized certification organization.

Must have excellent customer service skills and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills
Experience with medical terminology, and two years of clinical experience.
**Individual must be fully vaccinated within 90 days of hire.**
