Sweetwater, the nation's number 1 online retailer of musical instruments and pro audio gear, is seeking a Category Manager specializing in Live Sound/Install. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience as an MI industry buyer of pro audio and/or deep experience with reputable pro audio manufacturers. The Category Manager is responsible for the performance and maintenance of all items and personnel in the category. Inventory, assortment, promotions, and vendor relationships are all the responsibility of the Category Manager. The Category Manager assists in the training and mentoring of personnel in the category.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintaining healthy inventory levels alongside replenishment and planning teams
• Developing appropriate assortment to maximize sales
• Creating promotions for sales events
• Negotiating terms and deals with vendor partners
• Maintaining vendor relationships
• Training and mentoring assistant and associate category managers

Qualifications:

• Ability to negotiate effectively
• 3 years industry experience or equivalent
• Degree or certificate in Music Technology or similar preferred
• Knowledge of products in respective category
• Knowledge of live sound engineering, recording, and installed sound concepts
• Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently
• Highly detailed and organized
• Ability to promptly complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
