Tri-Ko, Inc. of Osawatomie, KS is looking to hire an entry-level full-time Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Personal Care Attendant (PCA) / Behavior Health Tech (BHT) / Mental Health Tech (MHT) / Patient Care Tech (PCT). This entry-level home health position earns $17.00/hr., working 3 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours). We also offer a position at $15.00/hr., working 5 8-hr shifts per week (40 hours). A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CAREGIVER / DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) / PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANT (PCA) / BEHAVIOR HEALTH TECH (BHT) / MENTAL HEALTH TECH (MHT) / PATIENT CARE TECH (PCT)

As a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Personal Care Attendant (PCA) / Behavior Health Tech (BHT) / Mental Health Tech (MHT) / Patient Care Tech (PCT), you support adults with developmental disabilities and other special needs, so they can live their best lives as independently as possible in a variety of community settings. Your support is needed in many areas of daily living including medication administration, hygiene, grooming, shopping, meal preparation, transportation, and housekeeping. You are happy to help them get better access to the community by assisting them with educational and recreational activities.

Using approved teaching and mentoring techniques, you also work with persons served to reduce undesirable behaviors and learn appropriate replacement behaviors both formally and as natural teaching opportunities arise. You are always careful to model appropriate social skills and behaviors. Conscientiously, you keep accurate and up-to-date documentation as well as promptly report any concerns about health or safety. You find the work of supporting people with developmental disabilities to increase their independence and exercise their rights to be extremely rewarding!


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CAREGIVER / DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL (DSP) / PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANT (PCA) / BEHAVIOR HEALTH TECH (BHT) / MENTAL HEALTH TECH (MHT) / PATIENT CARE TECH (PCT)

  • Ability to recognize natural teaching opportunities and act upon them as well as redirect undesirable behaviors
  • Ability to handle all aspects of personal care with sensitivity
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by corporate insurance
  • Ability to pass a physical
  • A heart for serving people with developmental disabilities
