Position Title: Technology Career Coach

Reports To: Senior Career Coach of the Elder Financial Safety Center

Status: Full Time; Non-Exempt

Purpose:
The vision of the Elder Financial Safety Center is to ensure every older adult in Dallas lives in a safe community with the financial resources to securely age with dignity. The Senior Source is a proud collaborator of the Elder Financial Safety Center. The Technology Career Coach is responsible for assisting clients 1:1 and in groups with job readiness, career development strategies, technology readiness based on individual needs, and Digital Skills 50+ courses. This role is accountable for career training and department communications to clients and volunteers. As a team member of the Elder Financial Safety Center, the Technology Career
Coach will integrate into a cross-functional team with the primary focus of addressing the economic security of adults 50 and over. This position does not have direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Determines program eligibility and assesses clients of varying skills and education levels for job readiness and career development.
  • Provides one-on-one career coaching, vocational education, and group training on employment-related topics for adults 50 and over.
  • Evaluates the progress of program clients through regular coaching verifying employment status, sharing job leads, and ensuring support and access to comprehensive and integrated services that address their economic security, including mental well-being and physical safety.
  • Manages and maintains client and professional contacts, training and education resources, and community network information in the database.

Qualifications and Skills

  • One to three years of any combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to the duties and responsibilities listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
  • Knowledge or experience with the Annie E. Casey Foundation or Communities Foundation of Texas Working Families Success theory and practice a plus.
  • Ability to motivate clients and train and guide other staff when required.
  • Ability to carry out assignments and projects without detailed instructions.
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Four-year college degree required.
  • Experience with technology and data management systems necessary.
  • Spanish-speaking is a bonus.
