rimary Purpose:

Supervise students in cafeteria, hallways, restrooms, school grounds, and parking lots to ensure proper student behavior and safety.


M
ajor Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Monitor cafeteria, hallways, restrooms, grounds, and parking lots to ensure proper behavior from students.
2. Monitor restrooms and report any inappropriate activities or unauthorized personnel.
3. Supervise student parking and curbs where student gather.
4. Monitor detention hall/ISS when necessary.
5. Assist principal and assistant principal in enforcing school and district rules, regulations, and policies regarding student discipline.
6. Screen visitors, check hall passes and supervise buses loading and unloading.
7. Escort students and visitors to designated location, as needed.
8. Attend extra-curricular activities as assigned by the building administrators to provide student supervision.
9. Immediately reports suspicious individuals found on the school's property to administraion and/or law enforcement.
10. Maintain confidentiality.
11. Maintain good working relationship and professional demeanor with staff, students, parents, community members, etc.
12. Performs any and all duties as assigned.
13. Successfully advances district initiatives.
14. Provides optimal customer service to all students, employees, parents, community members, and any other stakeholders of MISD.
15. Work with individual students to enhance positive behavior. Under guidance or instruction, may monitor behavior goals for students.
16. Assist in fostering an environment that stimulates growth of desirable social, emotional and health habits.

  • Demonstrate courtesy and respect in dealing with students, parents, visitors, etc.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to show versatility in dealing with unique problems
  • Ability to work well with administrators

Experience:

  • Previous experience in supervising children preferred.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent and continual walking and standing along with other physical movement as necessary. Work inside and outside with exposure to hot and cold temperatures.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment /alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.
