Job Summary:

  • Manage and oversee all responsibility for day-to-day summer program operations.
  • Follow all NYS Department of Health regulations for overnight camp.
  • Advertise, hire, train and manage all staff, collect paperwork & document references & qualifications, certifications, evaluations, etc. Final approval of new employees with the Administrator.
  • Collect and verify pre-camp and ending camp inventories (computerized) and review discrepancies with Administrator. Inventory will be taken after the campers leave.
  • Review all incidents that occur at camp, collect witness statements and photos of incident area.
  • Coordinate fire safety plan, lost swimmer/camper plans
  • Communicate with camper parents/guardians
  • Maintain communication with health director daily
  • Discipline issues with campers and staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum 25 years of age or Bachelor’s Degree
  • 24 weeks of administrative or supervisory experience in camping.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with program participants, volunteers, staff, vendors, Camp Administrator and the Executive Director of the Masonic Care Community and Board of Directors.
  • Driver’s license with a record that meets insurance and organizational expectations.
