WHAT IS THE CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT HOTLINE?

The Child Abuse Hotline is a 24/7 call center that handles calls from individuals expressing concerns about the safety and welfare of children living in Arizona. The Hotline is centrally located in Phoenix, with easy access to bus and light rail routes.

WHAT DOES A HOTLINE CHILD SAFETY SPECIALIST DO?

  • The job functions of a Hotline DCS Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Answering incoming calls to the Child Abuse Hotline.
  • Conducting comprehensive interviews, and asking designated interview questions to determine if the information collected meets the legal criteria for abuse/neglect.
  • Taking detailed notes, filling-out documentation, and authoring professional reports.
  • Assessing child safety situations, making determinations, and providing recommendations on the next steps.
  • Entering information into the Department’s child welfare system and utilizing Microsoft Office software.

WHAT ARE THE SCHEDULED HOURS?

The Child Abuse Hotline has varying shifts and work hours that can fluctuate depending on the call center’s business needs.

  • Hotline staff are required to work some holidays to ensure coverage.
  • Scheduled hours can include nights and weekends.
  • Available shifts include 2nd and 3rd shifts. (+5% differential in pay listed)
  • In this role, applicants must be flexible with their availability and scheduling.

Pay: $21.70 per hour
