We have a great opportunity for an experienced Calibration Technician to join our team in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. There will be limited overnight travel. Trescal offers healthcare benefits effective day one, mileage reimbursement, food per diem, and other benefits and perks.

In this role you will:

  • Perform calibrations on test and measurement instrumentation in our calibration laboratory.
  • Use your troubleshooting, repair, and calibration knowledge to work on a broad spectrum of equipment.
  • Be responsible for customer satisfaction on all equipment and services.
  • Create and verify calibration data sheets for technical content and accuracy based upon specification and approved procedures.
  • Once trained, you will travel daily supporting our local customers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Delaware. There will also be occasional overnight travel.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a Calibration Technician you must possess:

  • Military (PMEL) training or technical Associates degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of commercial or military calibration laboratory experience or equivalent pharmaceutical instrumentation experience.
  • Experienced in calibrating several disciplines of test and measurement equipment such as:
  • Physical Dimensional
  • Mass
  • Torque
  • Dew point
  • Pressure
  • Temperature
  • Humidity
  • DC Low
  • Flow
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office-Excel and Word mandatory. The ability to learn proprietary software programs with training by the IT Group.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize your workload.
  • Demonstrated communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills.
  • Reliable Transportation with current vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (Annual Department of Motor Vehicles checks).
  • Able to successfully pass a Background/DMV Check and a Drug Screen.
  • Job requirements may include: Vaccines and Tetanus Vaccine. TB Testing would be mandatory for some laboratory applications.
  • Must be able to climb ladders (12 ft. minimum) Utilize scissor lifts and scaffolding/catwalk (up to 50') and able to lift and move 55 lbs.

POSITION TITLE: CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN LEVEL: 3


JOB SUMMARY:

This caliber technician is required to perform field calibrations on medium to high level pharmaceutical test and measurement instrumentation as well as general laboratory duties as assigned . This person should be able to troubleshoot and repair simple malfunctions. The Technician must be self-motivated and assist in general field and laboratory duties as assigned. Additional duties might be assigned depending on the individual's technical capabilities along with operation requirements.


SOURCE OF SUPERVISION: BRANCH/LABORATORY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE

  • Requires little supervision and guidance regarding calibration and troubleshooting

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Capable of working in a fast-paced envirornment to complete monthly calibrations on time.
  • Demonstrated Calibration experience and knowledge of GMP regulations.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and timely turn-around on all equipment and service,
  • Perform calibration and repair of high level test and measurement equipment with little supervision,
  • Display positive attitude and enthusiasm to provide excellent customer service.
  • Create and verify calibration data sheets for technical content and accuracy based upon instrument specifications and approved calibration procedures,
  • Perform field and laboratory support functions as required in an efficient and orderly manner.
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance of the laboratory’s equipment is performed in a timely and acceptable manner
  • Great communication, analytical and troubleshooting skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Military (PMEL) experience or two years of a technical associates degree or four year science degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of commercial or military laboratory experience or pharmaceutical instrumentation experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA) REQUIRED:

  • Basic knowledge of calibration and metrology practices and theories.
  • Experienced in some or all of test and measurement equipment used in conjunction with the repair and calibration of electronic, mechanical, acoustical, chemical, thermal and/or dimensional devices,
  • Possess strong troubleshooting and repair capabilities, and the ability to work on unique equipment with product information,
  • Proficient in Windows-based and laboratory automation software,
  • Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and ISO: 2001:2015 requirements,
  • Skilled in communication with customers and peers, including the ability to mentor and train.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stand, sit and kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb ladders (12' and up), utilize scissor lifts and scaffolding/catwalks (up to 50')
  • Vaccines and up to date Tetanus Booster might be required.
  • TB Testing may be required for certain customer sites.
