HERFF JONES, CAD Designer – Warwick, RI Your Opportunity: The Herff Jones team is looking for a CAD Designer to join our team in Warwick, RI. Recent College Grads encouraged to apply!!! We provide on the job training for those that studied CAD design in school! As a 3D CAD Designer, you will be responsible design a flat 3D dimensional design in our CAD program using th supplied 2D artwork from our graphic design department. What we want you to accomplish:
Responsible for building 3D computer models referencing 2D vector art.
Design solid models for 3D printing Core Activities:
Responsible for interpreting art drawings into a 3-dimensional computer models and producing tool paths for the CNC machining.
Produces a numeric tool path part program that us used to control a computer numeric controlled engraver (CNC)
Obtain and review die requisitions.
Responsible for creating a tool that meets the design specifications while capturing the original art design.
Evaluates supplied artwork and samples
Forwards finished production molds and die requests to appropriate department. Success Indicators:
Proficiency with Rhino CAD design software preferred.
Ability to adhere to close tolerances and attention to detail is required.
Proficiency in Windows PC including Microsoft Office.
Experience with 2D Adobe Illustrator preferred.
Jewelry experience preferred.
Ability to adhere to close tolerances and attention to detail
Ability to establish priorities and work independently. Education / Certifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Jewelry/Metalsmithing, Graphic Design preferred.
