Business Unit Manager, Rotors Job at Emerson

This role is an exciting opportunity to support the HVACR Americas business.

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day and long-term operations of the business unit by establishing goals and working with the departments. In this position, you must develop action plans to attain those goals with results showing up in monitored measurements. The incumbent must be committed to promoting and practicing safe work habits by thinking, acting, communicating, and following work safety rules and procedures.

AS A BUSINESS UNIT MANAGER, YOU WILL:

  • Monitor daily operating performance versus targets.
  • Preside over production meetings to review operating issues.
  • Maintain and improve housekeeping, safety, and production issues.
  • Review schedule attainment performance to determine O.T. requirements.
  • Prepare weekly toolbox notes for distribution.
  • Administer salaried reviews and pay increases.
  • Interview prospective salaried employees.
  • Prepare and present monthly operating results to management.
  • Meet with hourly personnel to resolve individual issues.
  • Review forecast levels to determine required changes in the forecast by department.
  • Develop action plans for cost reductions and performance improvement.
  • Perform formal monthly safety and housekeeping tours.
  • Administer quarterly bonus program, set goals, and rate performance.
  • Participate in personnel-related activities for the hourly workforce.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Experience in tooling, die casting, or metallurgy

About Our Location

The Russellville facility is part of the Hermetic Motor family of Emerson’s Commercial and Residential Solutions business. Our facility is one of the community’s oldest employers, having been in operation for sixty years. Our Russellville team members represent 13 international cultures, all who helped celebrate the manufacture of our 100,000,000,000th motor in 2019. Our customers rely on the Russellville team to support their #1 or #2 market share product demand. Our air conditioning-related products help bring comfort and convenience to commercial, industrial, and residential spaces. Approximately 300 employees work in the Russellville manufacturing facility, with a full operational support on-site. Many of our employees leverage the opportunities for advancement as a Hermetic Motor employee.
