Business Intelligence Analyst
Our client is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst, onsite in Houston, TX to act as a liaison between the business and IT for a couple of projects. Needs to be able to understand business concepts, translate to IT requirements and ensure the business customer gets what they are needing. Must have experience with Power BI in a lead role, advanced degree (Masters level) nice to have.
What will you be doing in this role:
- Knowledge of Business Analysis/Intelligence techniques and tools with significant experience in project deliverables including the ability to:
- Contribute to development of analytic assets that can be used institute wide.
- Create clear and communicative data visualizations using Tableau or other dashboards
- Produce financial and market intelligence by querying data repositories and generating reports
- Precisely capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements
- Build, deliver, maintain, and improve analytical solutions iteratively with stakeholder feedback; manage a backlog of technical issues that require resolution and communicate to internal stakeholders
- As the subject matter expert conduct data exploration, vet work with the support of team members and ensure accuracy of all reports before delivering end-results
- Design, develop and deploy Enterprise BI solutions that leverage common data architecture and data optimization approaches
What experience do you need to have to succeed
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, in Business Administration, IT or similar area of study, and minimum 3 years previous experience. Advanced degree is a nice to have
- Required experience with Power BI
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Power BI Certification nice to have
- Experience in data modeling, designing data warehouses/data marts and reporting, dashboarding, and advanced analytics solutions Skills & Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Business Analysis/Intelligence
