Astec Designs is a fast growing ecommerce startup that designs, markets, produces, and fulfills orders for various customizable silicone products, including Siligrams ice trays and May & Lou dog biscuit molds. These goods are produced in-house through a novel, technology-driven manufacturing process of our own design. After just two years in business, we have grown to over 30 employees, were recently featured on NBC’s Today Show, and have produced molds for the likes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Ebay, and the Atlanta Falcons. POSITION SUMMARY

The business development and sales manager will perform a wide variety of tasks including building out sales channels, acquiring clients, finding new markets, developing and optimizing our sales process, and collaborating with marketers with the ultimate goal of growing top line revenue. This is a new position with substantial opportunity to grow with the company. The role demands a people-person who is intelligent, flexible, and strategic who can easily pivot as needed to stay focused on the highest impact activities to drive more business for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Builds, maintains, and optimizes new distribution strategies in the wholesale, retail, and B2B spaces
  • Connects and communicates with client decision makers to directly drive sales.
  • Works collaboratively with our customer service team, production management, and leadership to meet sales/revenue goals while communicating realistic expectations.
  • Explores and executes on new marketing and publicity initiatives designed to increase exposure and drive new client relationships such as trade shows, media and publications, association memberships, cold email / calling, etc.
  • Efficiently and independently executes high impact tasks in order to reach project goals
  • Identifies new market, product, and channel opportunities and works with ownership, in-house and contract manufacturers, and marketing to achieve growth goals.
  • Demonstrates a clear ROI on their time, efforts, and activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience driving new business for previous employers

Minimum of 1 year proven experience in a client facing sales role

  • 5+ years work experience
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Highly strategic and analytical
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently self-manage with minimal supervision at times
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Experience working in an industry related to some kind of personalized product preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
