Job Title: Business Continuity Program Manager

SUMMARY

Primarily responsible for the implementation of the business continuity program, supporting response, developing resilience, and enabling recovery from disruptive events in accordance with the UCB Business Continuity Management (BCM) Framework. Responsible for creation and maintenance of departmental business continuity plans, reconciliation of BCM systems to IT systems, coordinating with IT to ensure adherence to disaster recovery policies, maintaining documentation for reported security incidents and risk events, and other related tasks. Performs all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures and all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Minimum of five years related work experience in continuity or disaster recovery planning, IT, or other related field; financial services industry experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize among concurrent, competing priorities
  • Self-starter that works with minimal direction
  • Detail oriented
  • Interpersonal skills and team orientation
  • Ability to handle the resolution of issues requiring problem solving and decision making and escalate to higher authority when necessary
  • Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.


JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Implement the company’s BCM strategy in the regulated environment.
  • Serve as an expert on BCM systems and provide support and education to users, as needed.
  • Work closely with business function and plan owners to create or update plans regularly, as significant changes to business operations occur, or as identified through testing, audits, or exams.
  • Coordinate and assist in performing the disaster risk assessment and the business impact analysis (BIA) for both business functions and applications.
  • Create testing and training schedules according to the guidelines in the BCM Program.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure that DR testing is completed according to schedules in place.
  • Assist in planning and executing regular business continuity and disaster recovery exercises, including line of business and executive tabletop exercises.
  • Document BCM exercises and tests and follow up on documented Action Items.
  • Partner with vendor owners to ensure completion of third party business continuity due diligence reviews, when needed.
  • Support recovery efforts during and after a disruptive event.
  • Complete special projects, respond to audit requests, prepare reports, and present to management on the status of business continuity and disaster recovery activities.
  • Update BCM policies and procedures, as needed.
  • Keep current with FFIEC, regulatory, and industry guidance and requirements, trends and technological innovations in the banking and IT industry, and make recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Follow policies and procedures, complete tasks correctly and on time, and support the company’s goals and values.
  • Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position does not manage other employees.

POSITION TYPE

This is a full-time position that requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.


TRAVEL

This position requires up to 20% travel.
