Position Summary

The Biospecimen Coordinator is responsible for the intake, inventory, and release processes for all clinical trial supply-related materials. Assists Biospecimen Coordinators in supplying specimen collection supplies for various clinical research studies. Responsible to research operations for the appropriate, timely and efficient distribution and/or redistribution of materials to the various hospital departments where specimens are collected. Acts as point of contact in locating available supplies necessary for kit assembly, distribution and receipt.

Additionally, shares responsibility for the timely coordination of biospecimen collection, transporting and shipping of biospecimens obtained from subjects enrolled in complex research protocols. Maintains records associated with the collection and shipment of biospecimens and packages shipments as required by protocol. Monitors clinic and other schedules to ensure subjects are scheduled for protocol required visits and/or procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree. Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.

Preferred Experience: One year of experience in receiving, warehousing, or material handling; healthcare environment desirable; exposure to clinical trials desirable.
