We are currently recruiting for a Billing Analyst. The Analyst will use Excel to track various logs and conduct claim denial investigations. Hillview contracts with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) and billings are submitted through Hillview’s electronic record system (EHRS) to the DMH’s billing system.

Duties:

  • Keep organized and timely logs via Excel workbooks.
  • Maintain documentation for billing protocols for each payer.
  • Analyze and problem solve claim rejections and denials.
  • Perform and review Medi-Cal, Medicare and Cal MediConnect eligibilities.
  • Open/track Medicare appeals.
  • Track 3rd party payor payment adjudication.
  • Run various reports from Hillview’s EHR system (Welligent).
  • Assist with obtaining pre-authorization for treatment or retroactive authorizations when needed.

Hours:

  • Monday through Friday (40 hours)
  • 3 Days Working Remotely, 2 Days On Site
  • Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Meal Period: 30 minutes

Qualifications:

  • Must provide proof of a valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance prior to start date (occasional driving to DMH meetings may be required).
  • Must maintain a good driving record and provide verification of current automobile insurance on an annual basis.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background check. Hillview will consider for employment all qualified applicants, including those with Criminal Histories, in a manner consistent with applicable state and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles’ Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma

Required Skills:

  • Must have a minimum of 1-year office experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with PVT tables, preferred.
  • Typing skills 35wpm.
  • Able to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, be organized, demonstrate sound judgment, give attention to detail, be flexible, self-driven, self-starter and motivated.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous Welligent or other EHR experience.
  • Working understanding of CAS/Remark codes for mental health.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned including serving as back up for other employees for breaks and absences as needed.
  • Knowledge of DMH medical records paperwork helpful.
