Position Description

The Director of Benefits will be responsible for helping implement and deliver benefits services system-wide, supporting restaurant operations, market offices and support center teams, while providing the Benefits team with management and support. S/He will be responsible for initiating, developing and implementing benefits support and administrative practices for operations, market staff and support center departments.

Additionally, the Director of Benefits will be responsible for identifying needs and opportunities and defining responses to these opportunities that follow FRGs defined market-focused, market-centered and flat organization structure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Works with the Senior Vice President of Human Resources in the creation, development and implementation of all benefits systems, services, and programs for the entire organization.
  • Oversees all benefits plans and services for FRG concepts.
  • Analyzes data from health care providers.
  • Ensures all claim/enrollment issues are resolved as it pertains to the manager and hourlys benefits plans.
  • Oversees annual renewals of benefits plans and claim reviews for all benefit plans.
  • Responsible for accurate Healthcare Reform Compliance and updates, as well as Benefits Compliance and updates.
  • Oversees acquisitions and the implementation of benefits to employees.
  • Manages the Benefits Assistants and the daily tasks listed in the job description.
  • Participates in the FRG Leadership Group.
  • Works with the Senior Vice President of Human Resources in the creation, development and implementation of all benefits systems, services, and programs for the entire organization.
  • Amplifies and lives the Flynn Restaurant Group values and is a key driver of culture.
  • Actively participates in the strategic leadership and growth of FRG.
  • Promotes a fundamentally employee-centered organization that emphasizes exemplary performance, high standards, friendliness, and hard work in a fun, family-type environment.
  • Works closely with Operations to ensure FRGs benefits program supports healthy and successful growth of the company.
  • Acts as a Brand Champion, advocating for employees at all levels to ensure the unique and special company culture remains in-tact and flourishes as the organization develops.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Qualified professionals must have a Bachelors degree in Human Resources; MBA preferred
  • Experience: 10+ years of HR experience for a large company in their corporate offices

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common specific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or the Board of Directors.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
