To provide every guest with the Bosphorous Standard of service, which includes but is not limited to timely, accurate, friendly, memorable service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests. Each bartender?s primary objective is to deliver a personable experience to our guests, while managing the service well for the restaurant in an effective manner. Activities & Responsibilities

Primary

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine
  • Provide polished casual service to bar guests, to the same standard of service provided in the dining room.
  • Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, straws, and to go boxes.
  • Slice and pit fruit along with preparing fresh juices and other garnishes for drinks.
  • Arrange and maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation, promotion of beverages, and attractive displays.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
  • Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.
  • Present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages.
  • Take beverage orders via POS ticket from serving staff or directly from guests seated at the bar
  • Record drink orders accurately and immediately after having received them into the register system.
  • Print out each tab for every guest and place in front of them whenever a new item is ordered
  • Check identification of guests to verify minimum age requirements for consumption of alcohol.
  • Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the restaurant?s standard drink recipes.
  • Prepare service well drinks in a timely fashion.
  • Provide water alongside any alcoholic beverage.
  • Offer and serve food items to guests seated at the bar.
  • Remove used plates and silverware and deliver to kitchen for cleaning.
  • Attempt to identify potential problems and liability related to guests? excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading guests to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated guests.
  • Alert management to any guest who should be asked to leave or be removed from the restaurant.
  • Accept guest payment, accurately process credit card charges, and make change if necessary.
  • Clean and sanitize glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • Balance cash receipts.
  • Clean bars, work areas, and tables.
  • Reset tables in bar area.
  • Recognize and learn the names of regular guests
  • Assist servers in the dining room by delivering beverages, running food, etc. as needed.
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
  • Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests? needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
  • Standing / Walking up to 8 hours continuously
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs alone, and up to 80 lbs as a team

Supplemental

  • Plan, organize, and control the operations of a cocktail lounge or bar.
  • Answer the phone if the host is unable to receive the call.
  • Place to go orders accurately by repeating back the order and the pickup location
  • Create drink recipes.
  • Provide guests with information about local areas, including giving directions.
