Summary: Sagamore Spirit is looking for a confident, professional teammate to help behind the bar in the Sagamore Spirit rye whiskey bar, Nineteen O’Nine. Sagamore Spirit bartenders must demonstrate high degrees of professionalism when interacting with customers and will identify customer needs to maximize sales and provide an excellent campus experience. Bartenders will drive the Nineteen O’Nine business through engaging with customers to take orders and craft excellent cocktails. This role will report directly to the Bar Lead and will work closely with the entire Sagamore Spirit Hospitality team. The right candidate will be great with people, proactive, hardworking, and have the desire to make a difference within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Learn the Sagamore Spirit brand story, spirit assortment, and distillation process to be able to share that information with visitors
- Memorize the menu and relevant updates to help guests make selections and provide informed recommendations
- Handcraft and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails according to the seasonal menu and preparation instructions
- Help keep the bar stocked, organized, and clean throughout the day while continuing to provide excellent service to guests
- Properly ID guests and utilize the POS system to keep customer tabs open and provide a smooth checkout process
- Assist in performing opening/closing duties, daily/monthly/quarterly cleaning and inventory tasks, and other downtime work as necessary
- Provide exceptional customer service and hospitality to ensure our visitor experience is second to none
Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform each essential duty with passion and poise expected of every Sagamore Spirit teammate. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:
- Over the age of 21
- 1+ years working behind a bar
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule due to the needs of the business, including most weekends
- Must be STARS certified OR willing to get STARS certified within 30 days of hire
- Must be able to trouble-shoot and find creative solutions to problems
- Hard working, humble, and thrives in a team environment
- Customer Service - Responds promptly to customer needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Ensures excellent visitor engagement
- Task Management – Takes charge and communicates changes/progress of bar projects to constantly improve the guest experience
PAY: $7.50/hour + Tips
Schedule: 10-25 per week (Thursday-Sunday, with possible weekday evenings based upon availability)
