Our Banquet Captain will be responsible for smooth efficient service and breakdown of all catering and meeting functions in a safe manner.

1. Reviews and understands the Banquet Event Order (BEO); assigns servers and porters, etc.; complete set-up according to the BEO.

2. Checks room setup prior to function start time to ensure banquet event order (BEO) directions are properly followed including table drapes, silverware set-up, napkins, and centerpiece. Ensure cleanliness and proper working order of linens, silverware, glassware, and public working areas.

3. Makes contact with group representative and review procedure how to contact if necessary through event.

4. Learns the menu for each function that will be served and is able to explain the major ingredients and preparation methods for each item to be served.

5. Acts as liaison to communicate changes to catering service staff, kitchen, and /or any other affected departments.

6. Meet with staff and ensure they are prepared and ready to begin on time according to plan.

7. In collaboration with Catering Manager, assign banquet stations and pre-post function side work duties.

8. Lead servers and guide guest service throughout the event; ensure all staff use proper in room cleaning and aisle and tray breakdown. Continuously patrol stations, assist with refilling all drinks, removing service items and condiments per established policies and procedures.

9. Ensure all standard operating policies and procedures are followed. Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security, and emergency procedures.

10. Assist Catering Manager in setting up and breaking down buffet and other special food services tables/stations including banquet bars according to standard operating policy.

11. Supervise side work such as refilling condiments; shaking and sorting linens; hanging and storing table displays; cleaning/storing service equipment and/or props.

12. Provide ongoing training and support to all staff either one on one or in a group setting.

13. Maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests and associates.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
