Java Nation in Rockville has an immediate opening in the pastry department for a baker. This position is responsible for the preparation, production and presentation of various pastries, desserts and baked goods.
Baker Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare and produce all pastry dishes and baked goods
· Adhere to set recipes and taste test for quality assurance
· Provide exquisite presentation and plating techniques
· Ensure all pastries are uniform and up to standard
· Perform quality checks of ingredients and throw out expired goods
· Organize and store needed tools and materials (food or otherwise)
· Maintain and count inventory
· Adhere to all sanitation, safety, and food preparation laws
Baker Requirements and Qualifications
· High school diploma preferred
· 2+ years of kitchen experience preferred
· Proficiency using kitchen equipment and appliances
· Positive attitude and good communication skills
· Extremely organized with a high attention to detail
· Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and early mornings
