AVP of Real Estate Sales - Grand Rapids Region (Full-Time)

SUMMARY:

  • Plans, executes, and oversees all sales and promotional activities for the Mortgage Lending Team.
  • Builds a high-performing sales team through effective recruitment, training, development and coaching to exceed set goals.
  • Partners, strategizes and directs the team to increase community involvement to promote Honor and to increase our footprint, while ensuring the team provides an experience that exceeds the expectations of our borrowers.
  • Responsible for the performance of assigned Mortgage Loan Originators, corresponding assistants and sales support employees.
  • Builds strategic and tactical plans for driving volume growth in an assigned area.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for the Mortgage Lending Team.
  • Maintains collaborative working relationships with the support teams within real estate including processing, underwriting, closing, home equity, and servicing teams.
  • Promotes mortgage products as a professional in the community and builds relationships with local partners.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: A college degree is required; or an equivalent combination of training and work experience. Must be registered as an active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) on the NMLS site.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Thorough knowledge of Credit Union mortgage products, managing teams, and all applicable policies and procedures. Understanding of government regulations and legal requirements involving Real Estate lending and related functions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience is required. Must also have prior experience in leadership roles. Proven ability to meet sales goals and advanced knowledge of the loan origination process and corresponding regulations.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to keep finances in order.
  • Business skills including organizing, coordinating and multi-tasking.
  • Excellent mentoring skills.
  • Strong sales presentation and marketing skills.
  • Basic math, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to navigate Mortgage Loan Origination Software.
