To support Jviation’s expanding footprint as an industry leader within the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and emerging technology niches, we are seeking an experienced Aviation Planner with AAM and Vertiport technical, regulatory, and operational expertise to support our research and development activities. Services provided by this role will support both internal and external clients in the research, planning, and deployment of AAM. The candidate should have a broad understanding of airport planning including the preparation of planning studies that may include, but are not limited to, airport master plans/ALPs, application of FAA design standards and regulations, vertiports/heliports, air traffic management, airspace, site selection studies, economic impact studies, airport system plans, aeronautical surveys, aviation forecasts, feasibility studies, safety and security analyses, and benefit cost analyses.


The ideal candidate would also have experience with respect to AAM as well as tangential knowledge associated with emerging technology and polices regarding UTM, UAM, autonomous systems, and other aviation enterprise technologies. Responsibilities will include technical writing, airport design, research, analysis, client interface assistance, and associated planning services for airport projects. This position should be considered a nationwide position and could report to any Jviation offices or also as a teleworker.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Aviation Market staff and clients to deliver successful planning and research projects.
  • Assist in the development of planning alternatives for major elements of airport infrastructure as well as related conceptual development associated with airport systems.
  • Assist in the potential development of related economic impact studies
  • Develop and maintain industry expertise in AAM, UAM, UTM, and other emerging technologies and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical presentations, reports, scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for related planning studies.
  • Work on several projects or issues concurrently.
  • Work with staff to ensure successful project delivery, consistent quality, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and team/office satisfaction.
  • Support where appropriate proposals, shortlist presentations, and white papers for prospective clients and participate in contract negotiations with clients.
  • Understand our clients and know their business. Understand how AAM, UAS, and UAM technologies can help our clients be more successful.
Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a minimum of 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Aviation subject matter expertise in one or more areas: FAA regulations, airport planning studies, eVTOL, UAM/AAM, vertiport design or similar technologies, facility planning, site development, economic impact studies, airport system planning, etc.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills for application in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to professionally represent Jviation with direct interaction and collaboration with clients, sustaining relationships.
  • Ability to think outside-the-box with the ability to deliver custom solutions.
  • Excellent research and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Quickly adapt and respond to industry changes as well as internal initiatives
  • Must be willing to travel to clients, conferences and other Jviation offices.
