The position of HR DIRECTOR will be located in central Delaware and will service surrounding Delaware, Eastern Shore of Maryland, and New Jersey facilities. The successful candidate will have at least 5+ years HR experience in generalist duties, business partner and/or leadership roles and experience in all HR functional areas with a strong track record for delivering results.

The HR Director (HRD) serves as a strategic contributor and consultant to leaders who run individual business units. The HRD is responsible for leading and facilitating the effective implementation of human capital initiatives in different departments and levels of the organization. They work closely with senior and executive management in developing and applying recruiting plans, compensation planning, employee relations, identifying training needs, and advocating for continuous learning where necessary. The HRD may also provide coaching and mentoring support where required. They are a trusted advisor who collaborates with senior stakeholders to ensure that best practices are adopted, projects are delivered timely, and that key deliverables are met within specified timelines. In addition, they plan, lead, direct, develop and coordinate the activities of the HR team, ensuring implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy. The HR team provides ongoing support to employees and HR functions and processes on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports business unit leaders by providing assistance in hiring, orienting, training, coaching, and counseling staff. Works to proactively improve relationships, build engagement, increase productivity and retention.
  • Supports management by providing human resource advice, counsel, and decision making.
  • Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.
  • Manages investigations and handles sensitive employee relations concerns.
  • Works as an industry leader, leveraging HR expertise in addition to advanced knowledge of HR trends, best practices, compliance, and risk mitigation.
  • Executes and assists in the development of talent strategies that support company growth, engagement, and retention.
  • Ensures that corporate programs are implemented and managed in all our locations.
  • Ensures the daily operations and initiatives of the HR team are successfully completed.
  • Reinforces the company's culture and values.

Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organization diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Experience with multiple HRIS systems, Benefit Admin systems, and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Demonstrated success servicing business clients, and experience in developing and implementing change initiatives.
  • Adept with performance management and investigations.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required. Master's degree a plus.
  • At least 5+ years HR and/or OD experience in generalist, business partner and /or management roles with a solid track record for delivering results.
  • Preferred candidates will have experience in all HR functional areas with a strong emphasis in organization effectiveness.
  • Proven experience serving in both strategic and operational roles.
  • Highly effective project management skills with a complete understanding of business process and the ability to integrate multiple resources for collaborative solutions.
  • Ability to be successful in the face of adversity by making and executing tough, but necessary, HR decisions for the business.
  • Strong talent assessment skills with the ability to identify leadership potential in candidates.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations ordinances, and policies.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, HRIS software, and Applicant Tracking software.
