Job Title: Mechanic/Front End Alignment Technician

Reports To: Service Manager

Parrish Tire Location: Mt.Airy , NC

Store Hours: 7:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m. M-F , Saturday 730a-1230pm

Employment Status: Full Time

Job Summary:
The Mechanic will be responsible for performing repairs on passenger cars and light duty trucks including brakes, shocks, struts and general front end repairs. Employees in this position will also be responsible for performing computerized alignments. Safety and customer satisfaction is the primary focus for all employees at Parrish Tire Company.

Essential Functions and Tasks:

• Inspect vehicles for needed repairs and communicate solutions to customers.
• Offer customers preventative maintenance solutions.
• Order parts from vendors and ensure that credit is received for returns and cores.
• Align and adjust toe, camber and caster settings to required specifications on passenger vehicles and light duty trucks.
• Complete automotive repairs including brakes, braking systems, suspension, front end, electrical and charging systems.
• Repair broken or worn mechanical components.
• Test vehicles both before and after repair.
• Write work orders and inspections on all services performed.
• Keep service area clean to enhance a safe work environment.
• Responsible for following all safety regulations, processes and procedures required by Parrish Tire Company, TIA, OSHA and NCDOL.
• Communicate safety concerns and customer problems with store manager immediately.

Required Qualifications:

• 2-7 years of experience in car repair and vehicle alignments
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude

• Extent Flexibility - bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
• Manual Dexterity - quickly move your hands to grasp, manipulate, assemble objects, or use a keyboard/keypad
• Oral Expression - communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
• Selective Attention - concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
• Stamina - exert yourself physically over long periods of time without winded
• Trunk Strength - use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without fatiguing
• Static Strength - exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects of approximately 100 pounds
• Control Precision - quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
• Reaction Time - quickly respond to a signal when it appears

Work Environment:

• Shop is semi- climate controlled and is subject to the temperature changes associated with the seasons.
