Job Title: Associate Process Scientist/Engineer

Summary

Inceptor Bio is seeking an Associate Process Scientist/Associate Process Engineer to develop and optimize cell therapy manufacturing processes in support of multiple cell therapy programs. The Associate Process Scientist/Engineer will actively contribute to the execution of the early phase process development of our first CAR-T program and may also be involved in developing processes for our pipeline of development candidates. The ideal applicant has exposure to immunology principles, and cell therapy or similar process development. This person will design, execute, and analyze complex, impactful studies to drive process decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in, and contribute to, a culture of empowerment, collaboration and patient-focused decision making.
  • Design and execute process development studies, both scale down and full scale, including post-study data analysis to aid in process decision making, with guidance from manager and more senior team members
  • Author reports and present findings from studies to PD team and cross functional technical team
  • May aid in assessment of potential new process technologies for use in CAR-based cell therapies.
  • May contribute to technology transfer to manufacturing and provide training for GMP submission.
  • Draft technical documents including development reports, SOPs, and batch records
  • Adhere to good documentation practices, including timely completion of lab notebooks/Electronic Lab Notebooks
  • Become a subject matter expert on at least one piece of full-scale processing equipment.
  • Assist with interviewing, recruiting, and training employees on the PD team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in relevant engineering discipline with 0-2 years of experience for Associate Engineer position
  • BS/MS in Biology, Immunology or other relevantly scientific discipline with 2-4 years of experience for Associate Scientist position. Final level to be commensurate with experience and skill level
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with designing process optimization or similar studies
  • Working knowledge of statistical design of experiments (DOE) and related analysis using JMP or similar software platform
  • Familiarity with immunology principles

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 5%
  • May require travel to our Gainesville, FL site or conferences
