Atticus Franchise Group is seeking an Associate, Mergers & Acquisitions to join our team. The Associate will work closely with the Vice President, M&A and Finance and our firm leadership to take a lead role across the full transaction lifecycle. The Associate will be responsible for researching, identifying, and evaluating new investment opportunities, supporting deal execution to close, and monitoring the current portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess advanced financial and data analysis skills consistent with Atticus’ highly analytical approach to investment evaluation.

Atticus Franchise Group is an Atlanta-based private equity firm focused on investment opportunities in franchise companies, with a focus on multi-unit franchisee portfolio opportunities and providing growth capital to emerging brands in the Southeast. Atticus focuses on franchise concepts with a compelling value proposition, meaningful barriers-to-entry, predictable cash flows, and identifiable growth. Through our industry relationships, advisory board, lending partners, and previous experience of franchise operations, our team looks to create a competitive advantage for outsized returns to our investors. Currently, Atticus owns and operates Massage Envy and Sonic Franchise locations.

Responsibilities Include:

• Evaluate and model prospective new platform and add-on investment opportunities
• Support the deal team across all aspects of the investment process including, but not limited to, due diligence, modeling, finance, data analysis, and industry research
• Help monitor the current portfolio, including building, enhancing, and maintaining weekly, monthly, and quarterly business performance reports and financial models
• Analyze opportunities and develop recommendations for presentation to a range of stakeholders, including C-level Executives and Investment Committee
• Prepare detailed industry research and assist firm leadership in developing investment strategies for new investment verticals that aligns to Atticus’ investment philosophy
• Work collaboratively with field operations team to evaluate and execute strategic initiatives
• Maintain and build trusted relationships with the sellers, franchisors, lenders, and other key stakeholders of the company
• Foster a success-oriented, results-driven, and accountable environment within Atticus
• Contribute to driving the company initiatives, culture, and vision
• Perform other duties as needed

Minimum Requirements:

• B.A. in Business, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of work experience with an investment bank, private equity firm, management consulting firm, or in a finance/strategic planning role is desired
• Expertise in complex modeling and analysis involving large datasets
• Ability to analyze and understand complex business issues
• Ability to clearly communicate results to senior management
• Strong business acumen
• Ability to function in a fast-paced team environment with a high sense of urgency
