Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Associate Fabrication Specialist to support the Interiors Responsibility Center South Carolina (IRCSC) Team based out of North Charleston, SC.

The fabrication specialist will perform tasks in the following areas: composite lay-up, machining and assembly. We are looking for a multifaceted, communicative teammate.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.

  • Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.

  • Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products.

  • Assists with assemblies of precision mechanical parts, bushing install, honing, and final assembly of production parts and kitting.

  • Assists with part detail assemblies, bushing install, honing, and final assembly of production parts.

  • Assists with part production & assembly with components and systems using established drawings, specifications and requirements.

  • Utilize and follow standardized work and step details required for production parts and assemblies

  • Assists real time problem solving to understand and resolve true root causes to eliminate all defects and improve the product, process or system.

  • Assists and verifies that all parts are inspected prior to closing an operation so we do not pass on any defects to our downstream customers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the IRCSC in North Charleston, SC

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to work any shift, week days, week nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs; Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs; Occasional carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, walking, standing, balancing; Frequent reaching overhead and at or above shoulder; Frequent sitting; Frequent climbing

  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in Aerospace or Fabrication

Typical Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
