Caring For Life is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant instructor to teach and be a vital part in assisting students reach their career goals in the medical field. Looking for committed, driven and energetic personalities with experience in teaching and certification as a Medical Assistant. Position is open for a Day or Evening class starting in July in Castle Hayne (Wilmington), NC. This is a Part time position, approximately 8 hours a week for 17 weeks, potentially more depending on the class schedules.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and provide all lecture and laboratory instruction according to current curriculum. Monitor student attendance and retention, informing staff of any concerns regarding attendance/retention. Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms. Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events. Grading assignments, returning graded assignments to students, and assigning final grades for all students in a timely manner. Regularly schedule office/online hours and provide tutoring assistance to students as needed. Advise students regarding school policies, satisfactory performance, etc. Attend staff and faculty in-service training. Maintain professional development to meet accreditation standards (Seminars, literature, online courses, etc)
QUALIFICATIONS:
National Certification as a Medical Assistant CMA or RMA and Phlebotomist certification is highly desired
3+ years of experience in the field of instruction
Excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred: 3 + years of experience in academic instruction in a post-secondary environment
Working knowledge of federal/state government education regulations
Required experience:
- Medical Assisting: 3 years
