The Assistant Director (AD), Innovation & Online (I/O) is responsible for effective and efficient management of day-to-day operations of their assigned learning hub, including the coordination of sponsored events for business and community members, students, internal university, and CMU RC stakeholders. The incumbent will also work in conjunction with the CMU RC to manage membership and stakeholder services within the hub. This includes delivering excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, business partners, community members, on-campus departments, members, and other constituents. Responsible for relationship building and outreach activities to promote the use of the I/O Learning Hub including working with the Regional Director to develop engagement and activity plans for the hub.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Three years of increasingly responsible related work experience (event or activity management environment).
Ability to work evening and weekend hours as necessary.
Effective organization and attention to detail skills.
Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) and project a positive image.
Ability to perform the essential functions and requirements of the job.
Positive interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the administration of non-traditional adult learner programs in higher education.
Understanding of the philosophy and objectives of non-traditional education programming, career training, and development.
Community or business engagement/outreach experience.
Experience working within a membership services environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
Drives initiatives to increase student participation in student groups and lead student activities with the I/O Learning Hub programs.
Serves as the central point of contact for members and user inquiries.
Effective and efficient management of day-to-day operations and coordination and administration of face-to-face programming offered at the I/O Learning Hub.
Delivers excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, on-campus departments, business partners, community groups, and facility members.
Responsible for relationship building and outreach activities.
Establishes and maintains relationships with Hub members.
In coordination with CMU RC staff, plan and coordinate event related logistics.
Manages events and addresses any potential problems or issues that may arise.
Maintains online events calendar.
In collaboration with the Regional Director of Outreach, create and implement event utilization plans for assigned I/O Learning Hub, including outreach plans for those areas.
Facilitates meetings, workshops, and special events to promote the University’s enrollment goals.
Works collaboratively with the Associate Director of Outreach to represent CMU at local chamber events, community events, or other engagements to promote facility use and engagement.
Utilizes tracking and measurement tools to monitor plan activity and results.
Monitors brand compliance and manage the University’s hubs’ application of brand standards.
Assists the Regional Director in planning, coordinating, and implementing public relations activities to promote I/O Learning Hubs and a positive image of the University and local brand.
Collaborates with Central Michigan University’s UComm for potential media stories to engage stakeholders in I/O Learning Hub opportunities.
Develops and strengthens relationships with local University alumni organizations and other stakeholders to encourage and promote innovative ways to utilize the I/O Learning hub.
Works collaboratively with the regional director to gather competitive information within the region and identify community and business engagement operational needs and trends.
Serves as the region’s OPM representative in marketing, recruitment, and event coordination.
Performs other duties as assigned.
