    Assistant Director of Health Services

    REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Special Education Support Services
    DEPARTMENT: Student Services

    POSITION OVERVIEW
    The Assistant Director of Health Services is responsible for being a leader in pursuit of positive student outcomes through the effective management of time and nursing talents across the organization. You will champion our mission and values through the delivery of safe and quality nursing care throughout St. Louis County.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manages recruitment, screening, and orientation of nursing personnel
    • Manages complex and sensitive situations involving students, families, staff, and community stakeholders with respect and dignity
    • Supports equitable, inclusive healthcare delivery and address stakeholder concerns
    • Facilitates nursing staff learning, development, and mentorship programs
    • Ensures compliance with nursing standards, policies, and regulations
    • Monitors, analyzes, and improves health services delivery using data
    • Collaborates with staffing agencies and manage staffing and scheduling needs
    • Assists in implementing medical and nursing supports per IEPs
    • Participates in equity-focused training and align resources to support student needs
    • Develops, reviews, and evaluates nursing care policies, procedures, and practices
    • Assists with oversight of Health Services budget with a focus on professional development and adult learning
    • Regularly assesses nursing talent, maintain records, and attend student IEPs
    • Engages in staff meetings, training sessions, and serve on committees
    • Performs additional duties as assigned by Executive Director or Director of Health Services

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in nursing, master’s degree in nursing (MSN) preferred, will consider exceptional BSN candidates with proven progressive experience in collaborative teamwork and leadership
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pediatric or school setting

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    • Current unrestricted, undisciplined Missouri licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) required
    • Current certification in basic life support (BLS) required, will also accept ACLS, PEARS, PALS certifications

    Starting salary is $105,000 based on experience and education
