Description of Work Unit
This work unit exists to ensure that all individuals who represent CSU’s athletic programs comply with the rules and regulations set forth by Colorado State University, the Mountain West Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The efforts of this work unit allow CSU to maintain the highest level of integrity both on and off the field by providing instruction and awareness of NCAA rules and regulations to coaches, administrators, student-athletes and prospective student athletes; ensuring compliance with these rules; monitoring activity such as recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, amateurism, playing and practice limitations; and investigating and reporting NCAA or Mountain West rules violations.

Position Summary
This position serves as the number two compliance position in the department and assists in overseeing all processes, procedures and systems necessary to assist the department in complying with NCAA and Mountain West Conference rules and regulations for 16 NCAA Division I-FBS men’s and women’s intercollegiate sports. This position will assume the duties of the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance in her absence. In addition, this position serves as the primary contact for all financial aid and continuing eligibility issues and is the primary liaison to the financial aid and registrar’s offices.

Required Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, sports management, psychology, liberal arts or other field related to duties and responsibilities;
  • Minimum of three years of experience in NCAA compliance required, preferably at the institutional level;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA rules, regulations, processes, interpretations, appeals and governance structure;
  • Knowledge of NCAA technological processes such as NCAA Compliance Assistant (CA), NCAA Legislative Services Database (LSDBi), and NCAA Requests/Self-Reports Online (RSRO);
  • Proven ability to relate well to coaches, student-athletes and other compliance constituency groups;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and organizational abilities with attention to detail;
  • Proficiency in areas of continuing eligibility, transfer eligibility and financial aid.

Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Proficiency in playing and practice seasons and recruiting preferred;
  • NCAA Division I-FBS experience preferred
