Position Summary

This direct labor role supports the assembly operations. This position ensures assemblers receive information and instructions on daily production/processing operation. This person will assist in introducing and training on new products and processes as specified by the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager.

Role and Responsibilities

• Understand the details of assembly drawings

• Familiarity of assembly processes of appliance, small engines, or related parts

• Perform direct labor function in the assigned line in a safe and efficient manner

• Direct manufacturing in assigned areas while meeting required production schedules and promoting safety, quality, teamwork, lean manufacturing, and sound environmental practices

• Attend daily or weekly meetings as required

• Complete all necessary area communications for subsequent production, new product or process announcements, etc

• Maintain and update records as required

• Facilitate shift meetings and safety meetings as directed

• Direct and assign workforce according to skill, ability and the format of the work area

• Identify and work to resolve area bottlenecks to ensure balanced workload

• Work to perform root cause analysis and eliminate safety concerns

• Oversee work area maintenance and cleaning to assure compliance with company and safety standards

• Record and report incidents as well as regularly scheduled safety audits

• Provide assistance, training and retraining to new, current or reassigned employees.

• Serve as point contact for area new hires; assign a work shadow as required

• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Education Required: Diploma-High School Diploma or Equivalent

• Experience Required: 1-3 years

• Travel Required: <5%

• Must be able to read and receive instructions in English

• Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly

• Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements

• Must possess basic machining knowledge and ability to read build sheets and blueprints

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Excellent Team Building skills

• Basic computer skills

• Ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent is required

• Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on the job training

• General Instructions are given on recurring duties, operations or assignments, detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations or assignments.
