Armed Security Officers are on-site to de-escalate situations, deter potential loss, protect customers, guests, staff, vendors, associates, vehicles, and facilities. Security Officers are to observe and report on security issues to the La Vaquita center as necessary, intervene as necessary to resolve issues to de-escalate potential conflicts and assist La Vaquita ownership, managers, and staff as necessary.

Work schedule: Saturday's and Sunday's from 9 am until 6 pm each day.

You must be currently State licensed as an Armed Security Officer by the State of Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies to compete for this opportunity.

Security Officers (S) MUST, AT ALL TIMES WHILE ON DUTY OR AT A POST:

· REPORT TO WORK ON TIME IN FULL UNIFORM, AS SCHEDULED

· CHECK-IN PERSON WITH THE LA VAQUITA MANAGER ON DUTY

· CHECK OUT A TWO-WAY RADIO TO COMMUNICATE WITH STAFF, OTHER SECURITY OFFICERS AND OFF-DUTY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS

· MAINTAIN A PLEASANT, CUSTOMER-FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL DEMEANOR AND POSTURE.

· PRACTICE COURTESY, DIPLOMACY, RESPECT AND GOOD PUBLIC RELATIONS.

· GREET CUSTOMERS APPROPRIATELY WHEN THE OPPORTUNITY EXISTS.

· PERFORM SECURITY RELATED DUTIES IN AN EFFICIENT, AWAKE, ALERT & READY MODE. i.e., no sitting, no sleeping, no smoking or vaping

· DETAIN, ATTEMPT TO DETAIN, APPREHEND, CHASE, FOLLOW OR PURSUE ANY CUSTOMER, VISITOR OR OTHER ON A CASE BY CASE WHEN YOU HAVE WITNESSED A CRIME IN YOUR IMMEDIATE PRESENCE OR OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES REQUIRE YOUR USE OF SOUND, PRUDENT AND GOOD JUDGEMENT

· WHEN A VIOLENT SITUATION OCCURS SECURITY OFFICERS ARE REQUIRED TO USE GOOD JUDGEMENT AND APPLY THE USE OF FORCE MODEL TO DE-ESCALATE THE SITUATION AND ONLY USE THE AMOUNT OF FORCE REASONABLY NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE COMPLIANCE AND RESTORE ORDER. I.E., DEFENSE TASERS, ASP BATONS, HANDCUFF’S, AND HANDS ON DEFENSE TACTICS

· UTILIZE FOOT AND MOBILE PATROL TECHNIQUES TO COVER THE LA VAQUITA SITE INDOOR AND OUTDOORS.

· DIRECT CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSISTANCE REQUESTS TO THE LA VAQUITA OFFICE.

· OBSERVE & REPORT ON ANY SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR OR POTENTIAL CONFLICTS TO LA VAQUITA STAFF IMMEDIATELY, IN PERSON OR VIA TWO-WAY RADIO AS APPROPRIATE.

· ASSIST LA VAQUITA OWNERSHIP, MANAGEMENT, STAFF AND ASSOCIATES WHEN ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED TO REMOVE UNWANTED INDIVIDUAL(S) FROM THE PREMISES

· RESPOND TO SECURITY CALLS FOR SERVICE WHICH MAY INCLUDE INDIVIDUALS OR GROUPS NOT AUTOHORIZED TO SELL ANIMALS, PRODUCTS OR SERVICES ON LA VAQUITA’S PROPRETY, ILLEGAL PARKING OR OTHER ISSUES.

· WILL TREAT ALL ASSIGNED EQUIPMENT WITH THE UPMOST CARE AND RESPECT TO ENSURE IT IS NOT DAMAGED, MISUSED, LOST OR STOLEN.
