Arizona Serve - Community Food Bank - Volunteer Engagement Job at AmeriCorps
The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona currently serves more than 225,000 hungry men, women, and children each year, and engages more than 9,000 volunteers annually, making it the 4th largest volunteer program among food banks nationally. This VISTA project will reinforce the strengths of the volunteer program as it adjusts to both pandemic realities and a new volunteer management system, as well as provide an opportunity for a VISTA to learn how to support wide-scale food distribution and anti-poverty efforts throughout Southern Arizona.
Member Duties : Volunteer and Community Engagement: The VISTA will develop a warehouse tour system for various community groups and will conduct community outreach to increase volunteers. Volunteer Management: The VISTA will develop, refine, and manage the CFBSA’s volunteer management system to develop processes and procedures for sub-populations not yet transferred (our Court Ordered volunteer program, plot volunteers, rural and branch bank volunteers, Board of Directors, and more), as well as improve the CFBSA’s ability to fully measure, recognize, and strengthen our volunteer force. Training: The VISTA will also assist with researching and developing staff training for working with different types of volunteers (internships, court-ordered, differently-abled populations, youth and children, and others), as well as assist in our recertification as a Service Enterprise agency. Special Projects: The VISTA will also assist with projects to assess the capacities of our rural and branch banks.
