The Princeton University Store is seeking a candidate for a full-time Area Sales Floor Manager. The U-Store currently operates two locations, on campus and in downtown Princeton. It is a not-for-profit cooperative society whose members share in the profits. As a co-op, it operates differently from an ordinary corporation. It is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of students, faculty, administrators, and alumni, and instead of paying dividends to Wall Street shareholders, it gives discounts to its members. Members receive a 10% discount on nearly everything in the store. Last year U-Store members received nearly $500,000 in discounts on all merchandise. Co-op membership now includes over 75,000 active members.

We are seeking a recent college graduate or an experienced retail supervisor who has a proven track record of reliability.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assume manager responsibilities in absence of Store Manager
• Perform Opening and Closing Tasks
• Assure proper controls of all cash wrap operations, with access to safe
• Delegate daily tasks to staff on duty
• Provide strong team leadership and support
• Assist the Operations and Merchandising managers with long term projects, learning the aspects of each role
• Run daily/weekly reports
• Provide written and verbal communication of daily updates
• Resolve staff and customer conflicts in a professional and empathetic manner
• Provide professional and exceptional Customer Service through greeting guests, assessing their needs, and assisting them in all aspects of their purchase
• Perform all Cashiering duties, including opening and closing counts
• Provide information on co-op membership benefits, and encourage customer purchase of memberships
• Stock, merchandise, and maintain sales floor daily
• Possess knowledge and understanding of weekly/monthly promotions
• Possess detailed product knowledge
• Assist with maintaining Store Security standards
• Assist with all Sporting Events
• Possess full knowledge and understanding of company policies and procedures, including but not limited to, Standard Operating Procedures and the Employee Handbook
