Animal Cruelty Investigator - St. Louis City Job at Humane Society of Missouri
Our Animal Cruelty Task Force is currently looking for a dedicated individual with excellent communication and animal handling skills to respond to calls regarding the welfare of animals.
Primary responsibilities include:
- The investigation of cases related to animal neglect, abuse and abandonment,
- Education of pet and livestock owners,
- The promotion of responsible animal care, and
- Assisting the Animal Cruelty Task Force with the rescue of animals due to distressing conditions or disasters.
Also assists with dispatching duties/functions. This mission-oriented position requires the candidate to have excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, coupled with the knowledge of responsible pet ownership, and must display a high level of professionalism at all times.
Requirements: 3-12 months of related education/experience - animal handling or investigative experience. This investigator will mainly serve the St. Louis city/county region. Due to the nature of the job, weekend and on-call availability is a must, as well as the ability to travel, if necessary, for rescues and disasters.
Starting pay is $16/hour.
