POSITION SUMMARY

This position resides in the Owner Relations function and is part of the Hess Owner Solutions Team which is the initial point of contact, via the owner hotline, postage, or email, for many types of stakeholders and business partners. A successful candidate is well organized, detail oriented, flexible and adaptable to changing needs and priorities. The role requires a general knowledge of the upstream side of the oil and gas industry with particular emphasis on Division Orders and customer communications related to them. An understanding of oil and gas property ownership and the related financial components is helpful.

This person in this role must possess strong analytical skills, computer skills and general knowledge about the use of core computer applications along with related applications that support our business effort. This position requires a person who can easily and professionally interact with the internal upstream organization as well as our property owner customers, while being aligned to company goals and objectives, and embracing company values.


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responding to phone calls, emails and correspondence from minerals owners and working-interest partners regarding title issues, inquiries, and account related questions.
  • Responsible for analyzing and processing certain types of ownership changes.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with both internal and external business partners as well as property owners to obtain needed information and/or documents or to convey information.
  • Analyze and validate ownership, property, and production information related to our core business processes.
  • Adhere to internal document management process to ensure correspondence, instruments, records, and all other data are filed, imaged and indexed appropriately for retrieval and analysis.
  • Alignment with company objectives to monitor and measure business activities, prepare detailed reports and dashboards, illustrating both quality and delivery metrics in support of multiple asset teams.
  • Strive to continuously improve our business processes.
  • Conduct all business activities according to Company policies including business ethics, SOX compliance and all system/process security restrictions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of oil and gas experience is desirable, preferably in land, land administration, division order, or land development.
  • Experience with PRA/SAP is desirable but not required.


Education & Training
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferable or commensurate experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are key.
  • Proficient with software applications such as SAP, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, XRM/CRM and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledgeable and compliant with Company’s internal controls and administrative requirements.

  • Understands essential requirements of ownership transfers and be able to interpret the effects of a wide range of ownership-transfer documents
  • Understand and apply lease provisions related to payment of royalties and allowable deductions
