JBE is a startup firm with Head Quarters in the San Francisco Bay Area. Though newly established, our staff have bolstered resumes with decades of experience in Environmental Consulting, Disaster Response and General Contracting (coming in 2023). Our specialties include collecting air/water/soil samples, stormwater permit consulting (Construction/Industrial/Municipal) and providing on-site staff support on natural disaster missions. Position Summary

Provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings. May also train and supervise lower-level clerical staff. Significant volumes of electronic and hard copy data need to be received, processed, reviewed, confirmed, documented and manipulated into both electronic and paper deliverables required by clients. Candidates must be flexible and open to working in a fast paced, high-energy environment. Significant hours of overtime are a requirement of the position.

Tasks and Responsibilities

•Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

•Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

•Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

•Active Learning - Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Input data and prepare complex Excel spreadsheet

•Perform review and confirm accuracy of other staff electronic and hard copy data reports

•Completing quality review of required for processing project invoices.

•Prepare deliverables and correspond with JBE/client staff to perform updates on deliverables

•Cross train other team members

•Attend project meetings to support implementing consistent project protocols and procedures

•Assist with other duties as assigned.

Knowledge

Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.

Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming Microsoft Office suite products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc).

Education

•College Degree required

•Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting, highly preferred.

Experience

•1-5 years prior data management or accounting experience.

Skills

•Proficient experience in MS Office products, with above-average experience with MS Excel (should be able to create formulas, use pivot tables, conditional formatting).

•Exceptional proofing skills

•Able to understand complex reports and demonstrates sound analytical skills.

•Expert attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to complete tasks alone and in collaboration with others.

Location

•This is a hybrid position where staff may be working at various field office locations or remotely (from staff home office).

Working Hours

Emergency projects requires long workdays. Expectation is that staff will work up to12 hours, on a six-day work week, Monday through Saturday.

Compensation

•$30 per hour.

•If applicable: lodging, meal per diem, vehicle and vehicle fuel will be reimbursed as expenses by JBE if working at the project field office.

•Working remotely from home or at field office. Must be able to travel to client locations and provide onsite and in field services in an indoor setting.

•Position may have tasks that require moving up to 50lbs, sitting in a similar position for the majority of the workday and perform repetitive motions in front of a computer screen.

•Accordingly, the employee shall be responsible for making suitable adjustments in dress and application of personal safety protection.

Pay: $30.00 - $31.00 per hour
