Airset Molder Helper Job at Oil City Iron Works Inc
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce sand molds of specified and acceptable quality.
Follow Prim Card instructions and report discrepancies.
Inspect pattern and molding equipment.
Inspect, clean, repair, and tie prepare mold for wash.
Mix, calibrate and apply wash flow coat, spray, brush.
Inspect, clean, repair and tie bar placement of cores.
Fabricate sleeve assemblies if necessary.
Cut and bend Rod/rebar.
Place chills, sleeves, chaplets or tie bars into molds.
Position, glue, and screw cores into mold.
Level drag, cope and cores for close.
Finish, vent and close molds.
Change heat and serial numbers on patterns.
Fill tubs with mixed sand for proper shape and density.
Prepare mold for pouring.
Draw molds from tubs.
Remove hot castings from poured sand molds.
Handle hot sand molds and hot castings with cranes and/or forklifts.
Remove hot sand, handle hot inserts, handle hot skirts, salvage and sort chills, rods, and hooks for reuse.
Load and transport sand into reclaimer as necessary.
Calibrate sand and resin mixtures.
Operate blender, wash system, cranes, forklifts, loaders, abrasive and bands saws.
JOB KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a continuous basis.
Must be able to bend, lift, stoop.
Must obtain a working knowledge of core wash spray testing, core wash mixing and core wash coating.
Must be able to read and write legibly.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
3-6 Months previous experience preferred.
