Riverside Behavioral Health Center in Hampton, Virginia is currently seeking a full-time days Admissions Coordinator.
Hours: 7am-7pm
Requirements:
  • If not licensed as a Registered Nurse, the position requires a Master's degree (MSW, MS, MA, M.Ed) in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field. (Required)
  • Three (3) years of experience in the behavioral health field (Required)
  • BLS and First Aid certification required within thirty (30) days of hire and maintained thereafter (Required)
Also must meet one of the following four (4) requirements:
  • (1) Licensure in good standing as a Registered Nurse in the state of Virginia or compact state, as well as Virginia Board of Counseling registration as both a Qualified Mental Health Professional - Adults (QMHP-A) and Qualified Mental Health Professional - Children (QMHP-C), or
  • (2) Licensure in good standing as a mental health professional in the state of Virginia as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW, or
  • (3) LMHP-resident (LMHP-R) or LMHP-supervisee (LMHP-S). Applicants must provide proof of ongoing supervision approval from Virginia Board of Counseling or Virginia Board of Social Work. Riverside Behavioral Health Center must be added as work site of residency/supervision within ninety (90) days of hire. Proof of ongoing Quarterly Supervision Evaluations must be submitted to Admissions Department Director. A Business Associate Agreement between Riverside Health System and the individual's clinical supervisor must be completed within thirty (30) days of hire or
  • (4) If hired into role prior to January 1, 2019, will also allow individuals registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling as both a Qualified Mental Health Professional - Adults (QMHP-A) and Qualified Mental Health Professional - Children (QMHP-C) to qualify for this requirement.
Overview:
The position must demonstrate by education and training a background in the assessment of adolescents and adults seeking psychiatric and/or chemical dependency treatment. The Admission Coordinator conducts assessments on adolescents and adults at RBHC and coordinates with referral sources regarding referrals for assessment and/or admission at RBHC. This position conducts precertification with third party payors is able to demonstrate empathy while assessing the patient/family needs in a timely manner and compliance with legal issues and patient rights. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served initiating age appropriate treatment and aftercare plans utilizing knowledge of community resources. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs.
