Overview:
Under direct supervision, provides general clerical and administrative support to an officer level team member, up to senior vice president and may also support the department or group of professionals reporting to the vice president and/or senior vice president. This team member has contact with other departments within GM Financial, as well as individuals external to the company who contact the vice president and/or senior vice president.
Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES
  • Provide administrative support for the entire department as needed
  • Perform specialized administrative duties to assist Collection Support as needed
  • Oversee all facility related tasks
  • Ensure the completion of administrative and clerical requirements of company sponsored community investment projects
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, travel arrangements, and conference calls
  • Assist HR in all recruiting and new hire on-boarding processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Knowledge
  • Administrative and clerical procedures and systems
  • Basic knowledge of general office procedures
  • Basic software applications (eg, Outlook, Word, Excel, Lotus, Access, Internet, Email)
  • In-depth knowledge of GM Financial operations, policies, staff, and procedures
  • Office equipment (eg, printers, telephones, copiers, fax machines, etc)
  • Thorough understanding of corporate secretarial and general office procedures
Skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions, solve problems, and exercise discretion relating to the performance of day-to-day duties
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Handling confidential matters and information
Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Collection Support processes
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience
  • 0-2 years with knowledge of organizational mission, policy, and procedures preferred
Working Conditions
  • Normal office environment subject to stressful situations
  • Flexible schedule with possibility of working long hours may be required
  • Limited travel may be required to support business needs
