Summary: We are looking for an Accounts Receivable/Collection Specialist to join our accounting team. This position can be in either our Charlottesville VA or Eagan MN office. This role is primarily responsible for the collections of past due balances and reconciliations of customer accounts. This position will require strong customer service skills, knowledge of accounting and collection procedures and a great attention to detail.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reconcile customer accounts and review any discrepancies.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues.
- Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Proven working experience as Accounts Receivable Clerk or accountant.
- Expertise with MS Office applications, especially Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, organizational and writing skills.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Highly self-motivated with keen attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
