Compensation and Benefits

Requirements:

Responsibilities and Duties for the Accounts Payable Specialist

  • Assigns GL accounts and enters all vouchers for payment.
  • Ensures all invoices are approved by department managers and/or senior management.
  • Reviews, verifies and matches invoices to inventory.
  • Charges and inputs freight bills, allocates freight across products.
  • Answers all vendor inquiries.
  • Prepares accounts payable checks and ACH payments.
  • Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
  • Reconciles credit card purchases of inventory.
  • Assists in monthly closings.
  • Researches and resolves invoice discrepancies/issues.
  • Assists with accounts receivable and special projects, as necessary.
  • Answers telephone when needed.

Accounts Payable Specialist Qualifications

  • Requires a strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated/ability to think outside the box.
  • Ability to multitask and to manage multiple projects.
  • Must be flexible enough to manage changing priorities.
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software. Knowledge of Myriad’s Eclicktic software a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
