The Book Keeper and Office Manager position computes, classifies, and records numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. Updating HR records. Position is for 20 - 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions

  • Daily use of accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Receive, record, and review payment remittance of checks, ACHs and wires. Verify accuracy of financial or transactional data.
  • Compile data or documentation. Code documents according to company procedures.
  • Perform financial calculations, such as amounts due, interest charges, balances and discounts.
  • Reconcile records of sales or other financial transactions, note and report discrepancies found in records.
  • Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence
  • Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific account
  • Ensure contractors HR files are up to date and organize information.
  • Communicate with clients
Required Education and Experience

Must have experience working in an office environment and ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office suite programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel. Must have significant experience with QuickBooks.

Experience: 5+ years domain experience (contingent upon domain). Experience using bookkeeping software.

  • Degree: 4 year degree preferred
  • Credentials/Certifications: QB Pro Certification Required (QuickBooks Online)
  • Skills: High degree of customer service, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Moderate computer/software skills.
  • Proficient with technology; solid knowledge of computer operations and software.
  • Strong customer service skills - ability to interact with customers through video and audio tools in a way that is professional, friendly and reassuring
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, and determination
